Changemakers against Gender Discrimination & Injustice

The film “Five Changemakers against Gender Discrimination and Injustice” was produced as part of the educational project “Think global, act local”, which Masifunde Bildungsförderung e.V. implemented for young adults to learn about global issues and changemaking. scholars, activists and educators from Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya and South Africa, shed light on both the issue of gender injustice and possible solutions from the perspective of their local contexts and with a view to their different fields of work. They show us that everyone with their skills and in their place can work for changes in global issues – and what initiatives already exist that we can support or join.

The Masi Glocal Changemaker Comic Collection weaves together fictional tales inspired by real circumstances confronted by changemakers and activists from the Global South. These remarkable individuals work in community with others towards the transformation of their respective communities and were featured at our 2023 Glocal changemaker Imbizo. This comic anthology draws upon the stories shared during these gatherings to foster awareness about structural and systemic injustices relate to gender,
global warming and climate change, Immigration, racism; and concurrently, provides tangible exemplars of actionable change.

They’re individuals impelled to action within a community of like-minded souls, staunchly opposing injustices that have regrettably seeped into the very fabric of mainstream acceptance.
